You do realize that Washington team would beat 11 or 12 of the 14 teams in the sec right? Although it's not fair to compare bert to Peterson because Peterson is one of the top 5 coaches in the country and has been since Boise state when he coached circles around big game Bob with way less talent.

I'm going to list the coaches who won the last 20 national championships (will be slightly more than 20 titles due to split awards). I want you to point out just which ones you consider as "great" coaches. Now think about how many other coaches will NEVER win a national title, yet some of these jackasses did.

Nick Saban - 5 times
Urban Meyer - 3 times
Pete Carroll - 2 times
Mack Brown - 1 time
Gene Chizik - 1 time
Jimbo Fisher - 1 time
Les Miles - 1 time
Jim Tressel - 1 time
Larry Coker - 1 time
Bob Stoops - 1 time
Bobby Bowden - 1 time
Phillip Fulmer - 1 time
Lloyd Carr - 1 time
Steve Spurrier - 1 time
Tom Osborne - 1 time

Now, I'll list the ones who are currently college football head coaches:

Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Jimbo Fisher
Bob Stoops

Now, a comment on the stratification of college football:

The last 5 1st time winners of national titles:

Florida : 1996
Florida State: 1993
Colorado : 1990
BYU: 1984
Miami: 1983

It's interesting to note that 3 of the 5 teams are from Florida, a state which rapidly grew during the period. It's also interesting to note that there have been ZERO new national title winners since the BCS/Playoff format has been adopted.

Compare this to 1st time winners in NCAA basketball:

Florida: 2006
Syracuse: 2003
Maryland: 2002
Uconn: 1999
Arizona: 1997

That's 5 new winners in the past 20 years.
