I think there were a lot of rookie mistakes by Smart in his first year and a lot of adjustment by the team wanting to and not wanting to buy in to a higher standard of work ethic. Hopefully more talented, more experienced personnel on the lines helps us grow by leaps and bounds in 2017. 2018 is going to be the true measuring stick of his coaching abiility

He had a true freshman at quarterback, too, and I think he's got the program in the right direction. I like his demeanor and his capacity and while we have to wait, the alternative under Richt just wasn't going to get it done, period.

It was the right decision.
