Just bought a new house with a pool. Average sized bean shaped pool. Thinking a polaris would be the best way to keep it clean. Curious as to which model would be best for me, and being as I have no experience owning a pool, as always, I get most of my trusted information from random strangers on the internet.

We have the 280 and it does everything we need it to do.

I have a 360 (that the previous homeowner left) and it works pretty well after I sank a couple hundred in replacement parts.
The folks at Leslie's Pool are pretty knowledgable if you have questions. I had no idea how to maintain a pool and wasn't willing to pay someone to do it. They have been pretty helpful...probably because I spend at least $100 every time I go in there.

Hire a pool service.
You'll be happy not having to frick with it.
Pools suck.

I have the Heyward XL.
He's been pumping along for 5 years now. His handle broke, but I've only had to replace the feet and fins. Everything else has been A+, it's more than paid for itself at this point.
Also, frick Leslie's. Find a local guy, they will always try to beat Leslie's and they usually won't try to upsell you on bullshite products/chemicals you don't need.
