He's a 3* composite at DE, 4* at DT. Made a yuge jump in the 24/7 rankings over the past month or so.

I really like him as a player. I saw a lot of his highlights this year on TV. He has a great motor and gets into the backfield a lot. What they didn't list is his QB pressures. He had a lot of Sacks, and a lot of TFL's, but what he did consistently was disrupt the QB/play. Congrats to y'all, I just hope y'all didn't promise more that will be delivered.
Garner plays in a tough conference and they're a great team. I do think it's weird that y'all got him though, but I guess Coach Leach isn't in that circle of coaches in NC.

ESPN, Rivals and composite have him as a 3*. Therefore he is a 3*. Congrats VOLS, keep reeling em in.

He's not a DT though, he could be a solid DE in a 4-3 early on, or maybe a 3-4 DE in a couple years.

There's a group of NC HS coaches who are pretty adamantly opposed to Jones/UT (moreso Jones, after the coaching change they'll probably be open to talking to whoever's next.) It stems from situations like with Rocky Reid, Darrell Scott and some others who either; had offers pulled late, encouraged to look elsewhere after committing, and/or promised early PT/undersold depth chart and other recruiting targets.
I know this sounds like total speculation, but I guarantee y'all will never get another guy from Havelock or Concord HS's (and some other coaching staffs who those guys are close to) as long as Butch is there.

Can't speak to Reid, but Scott had plenty of opportunities to play and didn’t because of a hand injury. Then we added Kamara after Scott's freshman year and he decided to transfer.
I wish he would have stayed honestly.
ETA: I'm in no way defending Jones, frick Jones.

I thought Scott had a baby mama back home and that is why he transferred to ECU?

Those are some impressive stats. What level of competition did he go up against? Just kidding about the 3* thing. We got a Good one from our 2016 class in David Marshall. Diamond in the rough.

nah. Things were told to him and his parents in the recruiting process, and then those things didn't happen. Then it was clear that he wouldn't get the amount of PT he wanted/was told, so he transferred.
He had to sit out this year, but we'll see what he does at ECU next year.

I feel Butch Jones this year was in same struggle James Franklin was before this year at Penn State. Guess Butch needs to rid of the egos
