Mark Ingram has had a couple of good years, but he's not a great back. Not really even a good back. He's averaging 674.2 yards per season.

By comparison, Jeremy Hill is averaging 916.3 yards per season.

Currently, Ingram is having a better year than Hill. Ingram has improved as a player, but I'm not sure he'I'll be remembered as anything more than a serviceable back.

Career stats, through yesterday

Mark Ingram: 915 attempts, 4045 yds, 4.4 avg
Jeremy Hill: 660 attempts, 2749 yds, 4.2 avg

Ingram is averaging 153 carries a year, Hill averages 220. Ingram averages 674.2 yards per season to Hill's 916.3. If Ingram was given the attempts that Hill has received, Ingram would be averaging 968 yards a year, or 5808 total yards.

Ingram's lack of carries is due somewhat to injury, but he has been misused in NO. No wonder he was pissed yesterday.
