Gregg Marshall wasn't taking that job at that time. We all knew it. And he was definitely an outlier in terms of 'level' of coach compared the others who were in the ballpark of consideration.
I agree, he may still be an option and with the right dollars we'd have a better chance to get him now.

I'll imply that he wasn't an outlier in terms of interest.
Probably wasn't going to happen in hindsight, but I know for a fact there were talks.
At the time, I didn't understand the hire of KA based on what I heard, and everyone acts like Alden wasn't clear about the NCAA stuff back then, but I think it's obvious now.
I bet if Sterk called Marshall in late Feb early March timeframe with a "hey how ya doin", things could get heated soon enough.
