In case anyone is interested. Meyer doing his typical virtue signaling. Dabo still seems uncomfortable with public speaking. Peterson very understated as normal. Saban as always very measured in every response.

Saban said Bateman and Cornwell both staying through playoffs.

That's good news; will they stay in school through the spring semester, or transfer immediately after the conclusion of bama's season?

I'm curious on whether Bama processes some kids right on over to Houston.

Depends on Houston's roster situation. Do they have a starter? Do they have servicable backups? I have to think these guys are more backup types than starter types.

Backups at Bama might start at Houston though.

It's been a while since I was in college, but that seems difficult, especially if Bama makes the final. Classes would be starting around then, no? I can't imagine the NCAA would let them actually register in anticipation of transferring because that would mean they're technically enrolled in two different places at once.
Of course, this is all just deduction on my part. I don't know how the system would actually work. Or maybe the NCAA would give them some sort of waiver?

It seems like it should be workable. Final playoff game is Jan 9th. Classes might start a few days before then at worst. It's not like they can't catch up if they miss first class or two. Seems the athletic academic support people could help them get a transfer arranged ahead of time and get their books, assignments, etc.

Probably true. Given how many times I switched classes during the initial grace period, which meant I ended up being two or three classes behind, I have to acknowledge the feasibility of that. And, unlike star athletes, I didn't have AD tutors to do my work for me.

The NCAA is pretty lenient about it according to Cecil Hurt. Especially if its graduate school. They're not going to let a kid have to make that kind of choice.
