It's starting to look more and more like Eric - if they get together on the money.

I dunno though. I did know Eric, have not really had any contact with him since he left for YSU ...

... so to answer that question. Let's try to respond to that question.

Let's start with the basic question and that is: What are Eric's bonefides?

preciate the info Rooster

when I first heard EW's name a few weeks ago I got bad Jon Hoke vibes all over again. no disrespect to Wolford as a person or his family as I'm sure they're fine people. I suspect this is about the $$$ more than anything else for him.

he was here at Carolina for barely a calendar year (Jan 9 - Dec 15, 2009) so the nostalgic notions of returning to USC seem a reach at best. he wants to get paid and has every right to negotiate with USC. Carolina also has every right to hire someone else.

his original HC contract was for $200K/yr and he received a 2-yr extension pre-2014 season at $215K/yr. he also had a $50K/yr tv/radio deal as HC. he did not 'return' as coach in 2015. the 49ers/NFL do not make public their assistants salaries, but there's no way he made more than his HC salary as an assistant OL coach with SF.

Muschamp will hopefully do better for the current needs at USC with this hire.
