I think 2004 USC was a better team than the hyped up '05 team because Shaun Cody and Mike Patterson were beasts on the D line. this. usc 05 had a better offense than 04, as everyone came back and was a year older, but all the defensive studs on the 04 team were gone after that season. 04 usc was a much better all around team than 05, as the 05 defense was trash.

had 04 usc played 05 texas, usc wins by 2 td's. VY wasn't going for 200+200 against cody, patterson, etc.
