Nothing more worthless than preseason accolades, but keep on being you Peter.

Just to be clear, the same motherfrickers on here who were running matrices on recruiting stars and rankings as a way to show how untalented we are are now saying that preseason College awards based on actual play in the previous college football seasons are worthless.... this is fricking rich...

you seem pretty emotionally charged on this subject.

Richt recruits well. But too many kids get kicked out, transferred, processed, or injured for key games. The same has happened for Butch.

Richt didn't recruit well in 2013 (I have read on another board that Rodney Garner sabotaged the program when he left late 2012 for Auburn... kids he ignored were the first he called when making the move).

Richt paid the price for roster management in 2015. We paid the price again in 2016.

A good recruiting class in 2015 will be upper-classmen in 2017. A great recruiting class in 2016 will be upper-classmen in 2018. That is when the void of talent will be gone for upper-classmen. But we have avoid the issues that Richt and Tennessee have seen the past years with attrition.

Based on play? Yes, but not necessarily quality play that proves the player has a ton of talent. Your logic on this doesn't understand that.

Remember, just simply playing gets you on a list of this nature ahead of a more talented player who had yet to play. Also, the more talented players who already left are also off the list, so as you can see, the pool of players for a preseason team list is thin. Both of these factors enables less talented players to be selected.
