4 "power conferences" would make for a real playoff. Then everyone could scrap the 2-3 FCS games and 1-2 bye weeks. It's time to tier the NCAA off again. There is NO reason 100 teams are declared D1 when maybe 40 have a shot.

If they stay with the playoffs, that's probably what will happen,eventually. 4 16-team conferences, 4 conference winners go to playoff.
