At this point, we can run the same play on offense all year and finish 8-4 or better.

If he were to turn in a shitty 8-4 season at this point, he'd literally work himself into the grave to redeem himself. The man is a perfectionist, he would never walk away and "hang it up" if he was responsible for a piss poor 8-4 record. It's completely unacceptable in his eyes to perform so badly.
