Yes they would deserve it over LSU.
Problem is neither of the teams in the BIG 10 Title game beat Michigan.

Michigan lost to Iowa. Case closed
At least Wisconsin would have won a legitimate trophy in what some people are calling the best conference in America

oh well, they shouldn't have lost to Iowa. too bad, so sad. If Penn St. gets in, the committee will show that they appreciate good OOC games and won't hold you hostage because of that loss, prompting more teams to play bigger games.
