Those lines and WRs were though. Kiffin is a great OC, I'm not saying he's shite. But I won't pretend that if LSU doesn't hire him that it is a massive failure. Kiffin helped modernize Bama's offense, but Sark takes over (because that is the whole reason he was brought on), I really don't see the offense taking a dip. It is similar to LSU with our DCs. We have had several who all ranked very high in defensive stats and did a great job. Great ones continue to do great, good ones look better than they are, and only truly bad ones (like our co-DC crap) can really mess it up.

If Bama loses Kiffin they will be fine. If LSU doesn't sign him, we should be fine.

Your team's future success hinges on this hire. Sure LSU's D is legit, 2nd best in the country after Bama I/m/o.

However, LSU hired a D-line coach career assistant who's only head coaching experience is a bad Ole Miss run and filling in for coaches who got canned and hasn't run a major program. The defense will be fine but your offense needs serious help particularly on the line. You had the best 1-2 RB combo and they got abused against Bama. Ogeron had better get this hire right and get production out of the offense or LSU is just another 8 win team.
