Eason sucked today, can anyone here name one game/series in which he looked in rhythm/sync with his receivers? Was there ever a game he was on a roll? I think he's got a good arm but the competition is open as far as Im concerned next year.

He can only through it forty yards...lol

So you're not concerned with the defense? Like, at all? Or the coaching? Or the dropped passes?

He is nowhere near Stafford in terms of talent or development, and I've heard that comparison. I know Stafford struggled his freshman year, but you could see it coming with Stafford. I don't see it with Eason. Eason played against weak competition in high school and never played in a pro style. I don't think he ever comes close to what we thought he would be.

No argument here... Doesn't seem to be too bright IMO. Holds the ball too long, indecisive, etc.

Of course, but we haven't had anything approaching a credible passing attack that could keep defenses honest.

I disagree. He had a few passes that were thrown behind his receivers but he had two great throws in the first drive that should have been caught. He would have started the game 10/11 and had that perfectly placed deep ball later in the game.
The problem is that he and the receivers couldn't connect when they needed to. That INT is what killed it and it came on another tipped pass.

Does Brady throw perfect passes everytime? No. He has receivers who catch the ball when it hits them in both hands and or on the chest. He's wild. Yes. But he gets very little help. Also only throwing on 3rd and long doesnt help.

Terry Godwin should be told he is playing DB next year or playing somewhere else. It's just not working at WR.

Godwin is so overrated it hurts. And he carries himself as if he's the second coming of Percy Harvin

I honestly think Eason has played better than I expected as a true Freshman. He's managed the clock well and made some great throws. He also hasn't made a ton of freshman mistakes (a la Stafford). He's had a lot more good moments than bad, but he's still a Freshman and he needed to have a great supporting cast. With a non-existent OL, terrible receivers (both catching and blocking) and suspect play calling by jabba the hut, it's a wonder he has done as well as he has, IMO.
Disappointing way to end the regular season, but I can't blame Eason too much when we shouldn't have been in a position to have one bad throw decide the game. We were owning tech running the ball but our defense decided that the 3rd quarter was the only one they needed to show up in and play.

We desperately need tall receivers. 6' 4" or taller. Eason would pick teams apart. Instead, our receivers are average to below average height.

I'd like to give him a pass as a freshman but then how do you explain all the other freshmen quarterbacks who make much better throws than Eason does.
So many throws behind receivers when he's not overthrowing them.

Eason throws like he's unaware they aren't 6'4"

He's missed quite a few of deep balls but he's been mostly on the money for short and medium passes. He had a few behind the receivers today but he's also had so many this year that have been thrown perfectly that have been dropped. It's been a weird year.

With all due respect, Stafford was taking a hell of a lot more chances by throwing the ball all over the field. Eason has been coddled and contained by our coaches all year. His mechanics are bad, his accuracy is pitiful, even on the short to intermediate passes.

Stafford forced a lot of balls, especially many downfield because he trusted his arm too much, as strong-armed freshman do. Eason didn't take nearly as many chances, and that's exactly what "freshman mistakes" infer for QBs: forcing throws. Eason, I believe did a much better job handling the QB position as a TF than Stafford did. His mechanics can be improved (which will improve his accuracy), but aside from the deep throws that he mostly overthrew (which is better than an INT) he's thrown the ball very well and very accurately in short and medium situations. Have you seen how many balls have hit receivers on the numbers that just bounced off?
Posted on 11/26/16 at 3:03 pm to FooManChoo
Yes, our receivers have dropped balls, but I've seen nothing out of Eason that makes me believe he should even be mentioned alongside Stafford. You could see it with Stafford. It was only a matter of time. I can't see it with Eason. Hopefully he proves me wrong because he was no better in the 12th game than he was in the first.

Well I'm sorry you can't see it. It's pretty obvious given the lack of size and talent we have at WR and as bad as our OL has been this season that he should have been cowering in a corner trying to figure out where his sanity went, but he's had tremendous poise and done everything necessary to manage the games like an upperclassman, and he's made some great throws along the way. I've been very impressed with him and think if he can get some help, he'll be one of our best QBs ever.
