The FBI is good at what they do most frequently--investigating interstate car thefts and bank robberies. White collar investigations almost always go nowhere unless there is a confession. In cases of bank fraud, the FBI looks the other way.

Or... why go spouting off "hell yeah, I'm putting her arse in jail" when there's nothing you can do about it right now? Do that, the Dems get antsy, Obama pardons her and now, you got nothing. Downplay it, leave it alone for now, maybe revive it after the new administration has been sworn in? Oh, and The NY Times? Screw those guys in particular.

Of course they do. Bank fraud is investigated by the Secret Service.
