So when Saban is in contention it counts. If Auburn is, it doesn't.
I thought you expected championships? I can't even keep up with what you want, it changes so much

We were legitimately in contention going into our 7th conference game. In fact, we were in control of our own destiny, unlike only two other teams (out of 14) at the time.
Yeah, it sucks that we blew it against UGa, and I hold Gustav largely responsible for not having an adequate replacement for an injured starting QB, as well as allowing him to play the entire 2nd half when it was clear he couldn't execute the offense.
But I also hold Gustav largely responsible for hiring the right guys to coach the defense after multiple departures from last year's staff, and I hold him largely responsible for our midseason offensive success, prior to a devastating rash of injuries to our backfield.
Said over on the 'how happy are you with your HC' thread on tRant - even with a loss this week, we will be 8-4 and headed to a decent mid-tier bowl, despite a brutal schedule and depleted offensive depth. A bowl win and we're almost certainly in the 15-20 range in the polls and poised for a legit run at a title in '17. Which is a hell of a lot better than I thought we'd be this time last year.
