I was wrong. I thought that Hillary would win. I wanted Hillary to win. I listened to the polls and got burned. I still think Trump is a mistake, but I'm man enough to admit when I was wrong.

Am I dismayed? Sure, but I still believe you Republican bastards do some good. I am glad that the rural poor, which has been pommeled under liberalism for the past 2 decades, found a voice though I hate it was Trump they chose. Maybe with a Republican house, congress, and President more will get done than if Clinton would have won. Maybe Trump will help Russian relations and help resolve the Syrian crisis faster--not necessarily to the best possible conclusion, but a resolution nonetheless. Maybe, as conservativism and liberalism reassess what those terms mean practically in the 21st century, both parties will reap the benefits of what all would agree is a broken system.

If we as a nation survived Nixon and Carter, we'll survive this. Hell, we may even get some shite done in the meantime.

Side note: Should I wait a few weeks until the markets settle before investing? I was about to begin investing with companies like Charles Schwabb, but the markets are tanking. Any advice?

I'm Repub and never wanted Trump, but at same time had to do what was right in my mind, which is that the Dems imo went way too far left under Obama, and Hillary in the WH would just keep that theme going. Glad the Dems are out and I pray that Trump sincerely tries to bring the country together because it is definitely very divided right now. He will never bring in the uber liberals and its media, but a whole lot of more moderate Dems and independents are for the taking imo going forward.

Buy as soon as possible. Computerized trading recognizes buying opportunities like these and it will correct itself quickly.

Let's be clear. Trump is a dem at heart, but I do think he is like a lot of dems who crossed the aisle yesterday and voted for Trump. He knew the Clintons would continue the Obama agenda and that the country couldn't handle it.

It will be interesting to see what he proposes, he will have the entire congress at his disposal, will see how things go between him and ranking republicans.

Buy low, sell high. The overreaction by the market dominated by liberal progressive big businesses will eventually trend back up along with their self-loathing love of capitalism.

If we collectively learned only one thing from this election, it's that polls suck.

That they couldn't pick up on America's strong swing back to the right is telling.

This was a referendum on the Progressive movement.

It is dead.

We're ALL going to MAGA!

Garbage in, garbage out. Too many assumptions built in. It's good to be reminded the model is only as good as the assumptions it is built on.

Makes you wonder why they're so popular. Oh, wait, the media! I forgot that polls are the Crown Jewels of the media, all media. Gives the talking heads something to prattle on about.

Polls are controlled by the media. They tried every trick in the book to affect this election and it backfired. If they identified any swing to the right they would have not reported it. Doesn't fit their narrative.

Why would you apologize? There's no need to apologize for your opinion unless you were being a smug lil shite about it, and trolling the shite out of people, and being an insufferable twat. Then apologize to those folks.

You're all good here dude.
