As to how it came to this, I don't think it's any coincidence this is the first election I've seen since 2000 where the polls where I live had an actual line out of the door. People are tired of the establishment but they also didn't bother to vote.

Only 30% of Kentuckians voted in the last election for Governor. The apathy finally bit people in the arse. It's been an even lower turnout when we've had more local elections. That trend is probably pretty consistent across the country. That's our largest issue. When you stop caring on a local level, it breeds all of the bullshite at the top. They all start somewhere.
