He was offered a transfer position in the AD paying big money to expand his positive influence through the entire program and continue his foundation here for former players looking for jobs etc, and oversea alot of the operations of the whole athletic program and be the face of UGA, which was basically a stepping stone to AD whenever McGarity retires.
Richt was too much of a selfish dick or maybe just short sighted to abandon us the way he did.
We didn't "fire" Richt.
He fired us.

Abandon us? He wasn't done coaching and wanted to keep doing it. We told him he can't do that anymore. His alma mater said he could do it there.
How exactly is that abandoning?

He said flat out, he wanted time off, was burned out.
But his agent reminded him the Miami job might not be there next year.

He knew the Miami gig was coming open so he started Bauta. No other reason for anyone with any sense to do that.

While technically true, I'm pretty sure McGarity knew Richt would not accept the offer. Richt is still young by coaching standards and the fact that he took the Miami job with quickness tells me he knew what was going down and had that lined up ahead of time. But I feel sure that Richt would have never taken the Miami job had he not been removed as our HC.

He started Bauta after the Miami job was offered. So he would look like a persecuted Christian when he got fired.

No. A few years ago I tried to make a home made trailer hitch for my wife's station wagon with unistrut and a can of cheap gray primer to make it "look nice".
