Not sure what the gripe is unless it's the known/unknown aspect but we pull in a lot of top recruits late regardless.
Antwaun Jackson (late december), Derrick Brown, NCM, Sammons were late cycle guys last year.
Cowart, Tega, Holland, Slayton, Carlton Davis all committed on signing day the year before
That's a 5* and 3-4 highly touted 4* guys to finish out each class. I'd be happy with that again this year and that would certainly put us in that 5-8 range that we seem to be living in

They're talking about guys that we don't know about until late and land.
Sammons is another one but the rest of your examples don't fit.
We usually get on one or two guys very late each cycle. I think Tega was another. So there's at least three guys without even looking it up

I guess we can stone him to death for the not knowing aspect of his post but the fact remains that the past several seasons we've loaded up near NSD. Some of the guys I listed were known to us, but most of those guys were also locks to other schools and rarely discussed.
Anyhow, recruiting looks slightly better than last year at this point, IMO. I imagine come December we'll have a clearer shot at who those 4-5 top tier guys might be. I like our shot at flipping recruits this year if our offense and defense can play like they have been.
KJ Brit is also a huge addition. Not because he's a 4* but because he's one of the most popular recruits in the south.
Someone else pegged it first but 5 weeks ago the fanbase was booing in Jordan Hare so I feel like it's slightly unfair for criticizing the coaching staff for assembling a #11/#12 class with 10 spots left to fill with a solid 3 months left before NSD
And this isn't directed at you, Weagle. I'm just rambling

Who's being stoned to death?
One guy said we get some unknown to us recruits near NSD. People asked for examples. I gave one. Then you reminded me of another one. Then I came up with another one.
I think recruiting is fine right now but I'm not really even paying attention right now so

We should be getting a few "Blue Chip" guys right now... Id like to see us sign a big time running back or two. Or how about a QB that is not a project.....
We have done well on the defensive side of the ball though. DLine especially

I see you read the first sentence. Here's the last

I read that. I still don't know who's getting stoned to death

I see that, but I don't think blue chippers usually sway easily after 5 good games in the middle of the season.
As far as runningbacks go, I feel like the blue chip guys we get actually don't work out as well for one reason or another KJ is sorta standing alone in that regard and it's probably too early to say he's lived up to his ranking. But Roc Thomas, Dyer (great and bad), Jovon (glimmer of hope, mostly bad), etc.
Totally cool with the unheralded guys

We could set up a poll.
I'd start with Pavlo, Luke, and Jville personally. Feel free to add on

Give us an example of this happening.
not all bluechip recruits and some were busts but most of those weren't expected, or even heard of, in november of their senior season
you could say that new coaches coming to auburn had to do with some of those (muschamps uf connection) which we don't have this year (as of now), but i'll still count them

I mean if you're going to start stoning people I'd personally probably go with Jangalang.
And you could stone jrljr just to put him out of his misery with all those voices in his head but that's up to you.

Just make sure you personally ensure that I don't have a bigger stone hiding behind my back.

I'd prefer you have a bigger rock. Then you can't really throw it as well

I once brought a giraffe down with my bare hands. You don't want this.

I guess I took his comment as the coaches knew all along that they had recruit A committed, but had him show no interest until committing on NSD. The part where he said "the staff likes to have big guys commit on NSD" threw me off a little.

Depends on if you're into old ladies or not. If yes, I'd struggle to rule it out

I will need a clarification on that. What exactly are we calling "Old Ladies"
Just trying to decide what side to be on
