Big difference is LSU and Alabama have great recruiting bases within their own states. There's a reason why Tennessee has a huge recruiting budget. Tennessee is in no man's land as long as schools in Alabama, Georgia, SC, and NC have their stuff together.

Tennessee is a relic. Will have a good season every now and then but won't ever be an elite program. Truth be told, their history is overrated to begin with.
