from personal experience, there is no such thing as gateway drug. in your mind, there are things you are okay with and things you are not okay with. id on't care for alcohol. i can be as high as a kite and wont' drink. i don't like to drink. no amount of drugs is going to make me want to drink more than babying a crown and coke or something. i don't get piss drunk and haven't been remotely intoxicated in over a decade.

i've been on super duper binges before and had girls pull out needles and instantly sobered up and kicked them the frick out. i don't frick with needles. there is no gateway to needles. that's some shite you were willing to do beforehand.

MJ should be legal because it should be taxable and Arkansas is dirt poor. Poor people are generally poor because they make decision after decision to kept hem poor. Arkansas is no different. Any time something comes along that can put more money in the states pocket they fall back on hillbilly morality and would rather stay in the poor house.

I truly believe that THIS is the government's big issue with legalizing it. They want to make sure that they get their share of the money it would generate. Once they figure out how to regulate it like alchohol, and get the system in place (it already largely is), you won't see the Governor doing ads against it.
