Accept UGA for what it is....

We are not an elite program. Never have been. '80-'83 was a historic anomaly for us. We are historically a good program and would be in the top 25 all time but pretty deep on that list.
We will win a natty about once every sixty years. We are good to win the SEC about once a decade, maybe twice if we are lucky. Represent the East about three times a decade. We will go to a bowl most years although it won't be a really elite one. We will have a couple shitty seasons here and there. We will have some great elite players come through but we will all sit around and scratch our heads about how we can't get over the hump.
Doesn't matter who is in charge of the ship....it's just the Georgia way.

I'm bummed that there's not a game we can "safely" break out the black jerseys. We need to break that retarded stigma and I don't know who we could wear them against.

Your history doesn't mean shite in terms of your future. One coach can rewrite the program's image. We ditched the guy that was here because he was just maintaining our historic status quo and not advancing it. I'm not sold on Kirby but like fricking he'll I'm going accept mediocrity again. He gets a mulligan this year and this year only.

Well said. I'm not giving up on the guy, but this is the only "mulligan" year period.
Elite coaches have things humming pretty quick these days. Never imagined we'd lose to Vandy this season and looking so passive as it happened was the most disturbing part.

Motherfricker I've watched a metric shite ton of elite talent play between the hedges over the last 30 plus years and it's the same Gotdamn thing season after season after season. A fricking circus chimp could and should be able to lead UGA to fricking victory over Vandy at home. I'm giving Kirby a couple of years but that modern art masterpiece he shitted out of his arse today is totally fricking unacceptable.

True statement. But I do feel we should be a top 10 team since we usually recruit in the top 10 recruiting rankings. The problem is our ranking is mostly due to skill players supported by a weak foundation. Smart needs to build a strong foundation in the trenches which is what Alabama did during the 7 years Kirby was with Saban so I'm confident that Smart knows the cure for what ails us.

Accepting mediocrity is the bitch way out of everything. Let us stop feeling sorry for ourselves and get back to the facts.
We have one of the most lucrative recruiting states in the entire country year after year..if we "can't get over the hump" then it is time to REMOVE THE HUMP"! Teams that win..win because they are willing to do what it takes to get the "hump" out of the damn way!...whatever it the "hump" is!. If it is the AD, the coach,the MONEY...MAKE IT HAPPEN! My feeling...WE NEED MORE MONEY! I am not talking NCAA infractions here, I am talking facilities, coaching, LEGAL perks, analysts...whatever it takes. Hell Bama has coaches watching the coaches! IT SHOWS!
You either commit to championships and work to stay relevant or you don't.. it really is that simple. We have the potential to be a as great as anyone, no question about that at all.

Well.....lets see some improvement next year, then maybe. I mean, there is a very real possibility that we finish 7-5 or even 6-6. If we do, then go to 8-4 next year that would be pretty mediocre, but I would be firmly in Smart's corner. I STILL think he will be ok....but these growing pains hurt.
