I am not the typical reactionary and I have seen Lock's upside BUT his performance the last two weeks should cost him time. Our coaches are too soft, do you think Saban would not be all over his arse. Sure the play calls sucked but he telegraphed two pick 6's that put the game out of reach. Other throws were not even close even with no pressure. If you allow shite performances like that to go then they will continue. Not saying he needs benched but splitting time would be good. BUT only do it if you will let Zanders actually throw.

What I don't understand are all these sideline passes. Sure, it's one thing to go vertical up the sideline, but that's not the kind of passes I'm seeing. They are very difficult throws to make, even when you have the cannon arm Lock has. You misjudge the window just a little bit and the DB jumps the pass and goes back the other way just like we all saw today.

I don't know if it is playcalling, or Lock fixating on the outside routes, but the middle of the field should be getting a lot more action. Watching Connor Shaw complete eleventy billion consecutive passes to the TE 8 yards downfield back in 2012 demonstrated that. Where's the tunnel screen back to the middle of the field? The slant? the comeback? The drag route between the LBs and safeties?
