When did the Katrina hit? I believe it was a Monday. To play a game a week later is much different than when a hurricane comes through and area on Friday and trying to play 2 or 3 days later. These situations are not all exactly alike. Again I would have liked to seen the game played on Sunday, but I am not sure it was feasible. But logistically to compare it to Katrina is apples and oranges in my opinion.

Rita and katrina were heavier storms than Matthew iirc. Everyone except Foley thought the game could be played on Monday.

Not to mention he didn't have to accept. It's not like LSU and UF were gonna play in the parking lot of the stadium or surrounding city had damage. It was simply a plan that was never apparently really given consideration.

Hurricane Rita made landfall West of Baton Rouge on Saturday, September 24th. LSU played UT on Monday, September 26th. This was after the state was already reeling from Katrina.

Try again.

Fair enough.

Which is why more people compare it to Rita when the LSU/Tennessee game was moved to Monday night after the storm had made landfall the previous Saturday morning.

Why didn't Foley agree to reschedule the game for Monday night in Gainesville and make the final decision on Saturday morning?

Why didn't Florida have ANY contingency plans? Why wouldn't Foley cooperate in making a contingency plan?

Why was Foley acting like a petulant child the week BEFORE the storm?

Why all the focus on what happened AFTER the storm?
