We are always going to have problems with playoff caliber teams. They have better players. There isn't a scheme that exists that is going to have us consistently shutting down top 5 teams.

What we did have though, is a scheme that was very good at creating negative plays. We also had an identity that really doesn't apply anymore.

It doesn't have to shut down playoff caliber teams. It needs to be competitive with them. Slow those offenses down. Also need to recruit more NFL caliber players.
2013 was a really good team because it had multiple future pros on both sides of the ball. Especially the lines.

At Memphis he blitzed with a ton of different packages. He did not have the talent but it was very effective. He has abandoned that . It worked in Memphis and last year here
