You do realize that they aren't throwing this away, but are trying to make it better? This scheme will allow the staff to disguise coverage and hide pressure far more effectively than a one gap front 7 with Tampa 2 coverage.

I dont think they are intentionally throwing anything away but a couple of poor seasons can erase what was built as far as perception whether they want it to or not.
