Because South Carolina had 11 trillion gallons of rain fall just several days before the game. It was sunny and pleasant out on he day it was supposed to be played, but roads, bridges, and buildings all over the midlands had been washed out and the area had been declared a federal disaster area. No way in hell a game could have been played in Columbia. At th same time, a game could help some people in the area get their minds of the devastation that had just occurred all around them.

you missed the point....the game would have taken place about 17-21 days after the flooding if the AD had done what was suggested in the OP
