Keep in mind that the funding for Reed Arena was approved as part of a deal to get us to go into the Big 12 in the mid 90's. The political players at the time basically told A&M to go along and everything will be approved for a new arena in no time. It was intended as a multi purpose venue and not per se a stand alone sports venue.

Does A&M actually own Reed? I remember when it was built that A&M had to reserve it just like any other organization.
