People who deliver excellence find it very difficult to accept something less from others. One should be held accountable to his commitments. There's a time and a place for redirection, but taking your ball and going home mid season is not living up to your commitment. Saban's reaction is entirely appropriate.

Yeah frick Bama for paying for his housing, food, education, etc. and expecting a return on their investment.

Are they going to be paying for his housing, food, education, etc at his new destination? He provided his services as a football player for the time they covered this for him. Only 1 QB can play in the game, but are you telling me they didn't utilize Blake in practice? Now he's leaving, and he's not taking the housing, food, and continued Alabama education (thank god) etc with him.

That's right. 2 posts life to date and relevant in what particular way to the conversation? I generally read the board for entertainment value. More often, however, I cringe at what some of our "fans" say that make all Aggies look like wannabe losers. How's that for a 3rd post?

May appear to be, but you would be incorrect. Even if it was, why would it matter? Post #4.

This, all day long. Lots of fricking idiots in this thread. Not only did he see the field, he won the fricking job, so the notion that this kid was lied to or not given a chance is sheer fricking stupidity. Yeah, the kid's a quitter.

Saban is a great coach but he is a dirt bag . His comments about the backup QB are crazy. With what he has done leaving LSU and Miami plus taking Coker who left FSU because he was beat out by crap legs. It sounds like Saban is just mad that players are leaving his team when he doesn't want them to leave yet.

Like how he refused to talk to Alabama until the season was over ... and how he told the owner of the dolphins he would stay to finish his commitment but his heart was in college.

Lol

His agent had conversations with Alabama on his behalf beginning in October of that year.

He is bashing Barnett for the same thing, Barnetts heart is in being a starting Qb.

Saban has been a huge hypocrite most of his career, and has become more and more brazen about it. He just has most of your state and most of the media in the South in the palm of his hands... And neither will truly question him.

Sounds like little Nicky-poo is very butt hurt.

But yeah just like clockwork, all the bama fans come and defend him. Its cool to admit that Saban does some shady things and is a hypocrite, that doesn't mean it isn't a good coach. In fact that is probably why him and Meyer are so good because they are two faced and can and will process these 18-20 year olds, but then bitch when a good guy leaves.

EDIT: Also it was surprising to hear on Mike and Mike this morning, them ripping Saban apart. They literally are saying what all the non bama fans are saying in that Saban quit on his team in MIA during the season. They say Saban needs to grow a pair of balls and not criticize these kids to the extent which he did, as Saban only cares about his future and not these kids if they aren't on his team.

Wow a lot of sore sphincters up in this thread...but understandable, considering the fan bases complaining do less with more than any other programs in the country....Georgia's recent hire from a staff that is "shady and hypocritical " ensures them continued long term mediocrity. The ags, on the other hand, are the football equivalent of Charlie Brown and beat their chest against the oppressive powers that be, perceiving themselves always mistreated. The ultimate little brother. Now it just happens to be big bad Alabama doing the oppression instead of Texas.

Did he? Because I could have sworn he didn't get on that plane until January. The season was over by that point. You have no proof that he gave up on the team during the season. We do have proof that Blake Barnett won the starting job, lost it to a true freshman, then quit on the team four games into the season when it became obvious he wasn't going to get the job back.

The two Mikes don't have any ground to stand on with this argument. Coaches leave jobs at the end of the season all the time. That's not the same as someone peacing out before the season is even half over.
