Apparently, Bill Simmons was in Auburn for the LSU game and took some video in Toomer's Corner. He used it in a bit on Any Given Wednesday discussing fired college coaches and their lucrative buyouts (he brought up Miles' $12.9 million buyout and Malzahn's potential $8.8 million buyout). He gave this quote about Auburn:
"Auburn fans cover trees with toilet paper after they win...needless to say, Trump state"

Well... It is what it is. Alabama is one of the poorest educated, backwards, redneck states in the entire country. It is also one of the most solidly "Trump states" in the country.
Trump's strongest demographic is uneducated white people. It is what it is.

There are millions of quality people in Alabama. I love the state and almost all of my family still lives there, but until people there stop voting against their own self interest it will always be near the bottom of every list that matters.

how is voting for higher taxes, high deductible and premium Obamacare, for people who want to take away gun rights, etc in people's best interest, and who are you to lecture people about what their best interests are.

the climate hasn't been getting warmer, which kind of hurts your ability fearmonger people on the issue.
the racist party in this country is the Democrat party. it supported slavery, KKK, segregation, lynching, jim crow, civil war, etc. all the rednecks back int he day like Tillman were Democrats, same kind of views on economics as Obama.

I'm a physician and I will be voting for Trump (I don't love the guy but frick Hillary). Probably 90% of the physicians I know will be voting similarly (with some Gary Johnson sprinkled in). It's not all stupid racist redneck mouth-breathers who vote Republican.

I'm not a democrat. Just not a blind party follower. You're referencing a lot of things that are 50+ years old. In 2016, which is what matters right now, the Republicans are far more racist. Are black people getting beat up at Clinton rallies? No. Trump rallies? Yes. I consider myself a Republican leaning moderate for the record.

Outliers because of the Arkansas-Clinton connection, and that state will still be dark red.
