ngrats you got kids from out of state. do you want a cookie? we land kids from out of state all the time and with ease. However, its much easier to maintain power status if your state produces talent and you don't have to split that talent.

TOSU consistent power because they are in a recruit filled state, USC consistent power because home state kids can get them back on the map. FSU consistent power because of the ease of getting florida kids. Miami and so on, any program in a talent rich state is always a threat.

Nebraska is a has been because they have no instate talent to help them in lean years and get their footing back. They are gone, they lost their jucos and the out of state kids don't make them a top choice.

as long as La has talent it will keep LSU as a top 10 job.

i think you may be living in the past tho, the reality is more programs are trying to be comeptitive in football now than back in the day, look at the emergencence of Baylor, TCU, etc, and this is diluting the talent level. that is why you have seen so many historic programs struggle in recent years, and they keep firing coaches but nothing changes.

wat

Its a zero sum game. For every hot new program that has emerged there is former great program that has fallen. Texas, Nebraska, USC, etc

Wait why am I arguing with this retard

no you missed the entire point of the post. a school in fertile recruiting grounds is much more likely to always be able to rebound.

sure some schools will rise and some will fall but LSU isn't likely to be one of those falling off a cliff to never return, unless we see a massive population shift and we lose all the high school talent that we have in the state.

The good news for LSU is that people born in la are far more likely to stay in the state. So it doesn't look like we will have big population shift anytime soon.

LSU could very easily go through another early or late 90s phase, hell I even expect it at some point. however, much like bama did we eventually get the right coach and we bounce back. we stay a while and then it wains, however the huskers are gone for good due to demographics.
