I don't know that anybody really takes the whatever "U" debates very seriously, but not sure this would really "settle" it. It appears that LSU has 9 while Bama has 8. However, they list one of Bama's former DBs as a linebacker (Mark Barron) so it's basically a wash.

Barron is much better as an olb than a safety.

The tiebreaker would go to the better DB's. And Peterson and Mathieu both being arguably the best at their position makes it an easy tie breaker.
