That might be true if he'd made a single throw yet where it looked like he was laboring to get it out there. His underthrows haven't come on throws when he's really tried to gun it out there. I haven't seen him really step into one yet.

Lambert does have the necessary arm talent by the way. He just plays scared.

That's actually been the only "concerning" thing I've seen from him yet. The not having 100% grasp of the offense is understandable: True Freshman, splitting reps, etc.

Becoming somewhat reliant on sheer arm strength to make throws happen and not really getting set is not a good habit to start forming now, no matter how good the arm is. But it's a limited sample size and I'm sure the coaches are talking to him about putting himself in position to make better and easier throws.

That might be the single most baffling piece about him. If we hadn't all seen him rifle a perfect pass in the UT game to Reggie, we might all just be able to say he doesn't have it, but dammit if that wasn't a rope that just got dropped. He is *very* hesitant. Short arms a lot trying to ensure it doesn't get picked off, in the process is behind or below the intended receiver with little to no chance to catch and if they do, there's even less of a chance for YAC.

I would think the two passes he got PI calls on against NC would be some he would try to lay out there. In both cases the receivers had a step or two on the defenders.

I can chalk those up to nerves....or throwing off his back foot. That could be the problem A mechanics deal. I didn't come on here trying to start an argument. I was just trying to see if anybody else felt the same as I did. Most do not. That's fine. Like I said....not trying to start trouble or an argument. You guys are probably right.

Something we both agree on 100%. His biggest problem is he plays scared. I'm not sure if it's because the coaches tell him to protect the ball at all costs, or what the problem is....but put a little pressure on him and he panics.
