Gus called a good game against an over matched opponent. I fear against more talented teams he will feel the need to be overly creative and add a bunch of "wrinkles."

So, do you think the play calling Saturday was a sign that Gus extracted his head from his arse or that he just didn't think he needed wrinkles to beat Arky lite?

If Gus cannot see how effective that play calling was, regardless of opponent, then he needs to be committed.

I'm really not sure. My hope is that the Clemson game plan was a teaching moment that wrinkles do not work. Seems that he learned that lesson.

How can he watch that Clemson tape and think Johnson or JF have earned additional touches?

I believe you are over-thinking things. Gus saw an offense that worked Saturday. And I'm not a huge Gus fan.

Gus can call some of the best games I've seen and some of the worst games. The 2014 UGA game and this years Clemson game were two of the worst-called games I've ever seen. The LSU game in 2014 and the Iron Bowl in 2013 were two of the best called I've ever seen. So we'll just have to see which Gus shows up.

I think a lot of this stuff comes down to confidence. If Gus feels he has the players who can execute, he can be creative/aggressive. But last year, with the offense being so fricked up because of Johnson, it was timid all along.

I feel like with White now establishing himself, we can get some momentum.

I am still worried about our red zone play. Both the play calling and Whites total melt down once we get in there.

Id also like to see some more pass rush from our ends early in the game. I watched the game yesterday and focused on Lawson. If you think he is getting double teamed on every play, you are probably going to be disappointed. He is not Just getting blocked. More playing time could help him....

But other than that, we are progressing nicely
