A&M made the right call by leaving, stability issues in the B12 combined with going to the premier conference, more money & nothing to lose/stuck in mediocrity otherwise.
TX as well as the other B12 members had to blackball A&M in scheduling, doing otherwise is foolish.
Great rivalry in a great football state, but it was lopsided. TX/A&M wasn't OU/Neb.
Nice if the game came back,but not that a big of a deal in the interim.

After 26 games, Charlie Strong has the same record as Dennis Franchione and only 1 game better than Mike Sherman!

AUSTIN, Texas -- Arkansas is bumping Texas from its 2009 schedule so that the Razorbacks can play Texas A&M in the start of a new series with the Aggies.
The Longhorns and Razorbacks, set to meet Sept. 13 in Austin, announced Friday that their postponed game in Fayetteville might not be rescheduled until 2013 or later.

The Texas vs A&M series is 23-19 going back to 1970. It hasn't been lopsided since our grandparents were on campus.

We didn't run away when the overall series was 7-18-2 in 1920.
We stuck with it when had fallen behind 16-37-4 in 1950.
Surely we would have chickened out in 1975, when it was 20-58-4. We won a whopping 4 games in that 25-year period.
