What a lot of people are trying to understand is did he believe the play was live? I watched the replay a few times on the network broadcast on my dvr and never got a clear idea either way. When they showed the camara on the wire he had his back to the play because his man beat him on the pass blocking and after the ball was intercepted he immediately turned and ran straight to the running DB and knocked him down - hit him in the chest, not the head as I originally thought. In summary, I did not see enough to say he did not know play was dead but I still don't understand it. Another issue is that nobody from the LSU team is commenting on it one way or another. So you are left to believe it was a flagrant foul although it was not as bad as it looked.
