I think you would enjoy the conversation in this thread on the SEC rant

Joel Klatt on LSU

I had a little fun spinning the L5U crew up a bit.

Alabama returned to the practice field Tuesday afternoon for its second on-field preparation day of Texas A&M week. The Crimson Tide players practiced outdoors and in full pads on a partly-cloudy, 88-degree afternoon.

Here are several observations from the media viewing portion of Alabama’s Tuesday practice in Tuscaloosa:

- Right guard Alphonse Taylor (concussion) was in full pads but did not participate in any of the offensive line drills during the two media viewing periods. That marks the fifth consecutive day of open practice Taylor has been limited.

- With Taylor limited, Lester Cotton saw all the reps at right guard with the first-team offensive line.

- Running back Damien Harris appeared limited, watching his teammates in footwork drills and running at half speed and with no gloves during the team period. He came up Monday afternoon or interviews and did some things, suggesting he won’t miss any time Saturday. It’s likely just a precautionary move at this point in the season with players nursing nagging injuries.

- Senior linebacker Reuben Foster continues to lead the inside ‘backers through drills and man his usual spot inside during dime drills -- which Alabama’s secondary worked on for most of the second of two viewing periods.

- As Foster and Shaun Hamilton jogged away from dime drills, former Crimson Tide defensive tackle Josh Chapman, who is now an assistant strength and conditioning coach, said to them, “I wish y’all boys played behind me.”

- Several other Alabama players wore scout-team jerseys, representing Aggie players. They were:

Derrick Gore -- RB Trayveon Williams (5-9, 200)

Ronnie Clark -- RB Keith Ford (5-11, 215)

Xavian Marks -- WR Christian Kirk (5-11, 200)

- An NFL scout from the Philadelphia Eagles watched Wednesday’s practice from the sideline.

*** What’s next: Alabama will be back at practice Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. CT. Head coach Nick Saban will hold his final press conference of the week following Wednesday’s afternoon practice at approximately 6 p.m. CT.
