I totally agree. I blame play calling for Hurts' fumble. Why would you call an option play as the very first play for a true freshman quarterback who is barely 18 years old and playing in the biggest game of his life? Makes no sense.

Actually there's a video out there that shows Hurts made the right decision to keep it, and had Harris not pulled on it a little too hard, Hurts probably would have has a 10+ yard run. Just first game jitters by both players.

Because he ran that exact play like a million times in high school and practice most likely. That is like the easiest read for a true freshman to make.
