But damn it feels good to not be perceived as the worst team in the conference anymore. That was a long year. Let's hope we continue to avoid that

I sure hope you're right ... it would be one step further in the right direction, that's for sure.

CNB ... you're right and let's hope we manage to stay off of the bottom the rest of the way.

I just rewatched our game and we're a little undersized but we're quick and we're playing with some effort and intensity. Sure beats the heck outta that crap show we were given last year.

You know, looking at it a certain way, it's not a reach to observe right now that our schedule becomes progressively tougher each week these first four weeks if ... KY > ECU > MSU > Vandy. And from a purely developmental perspective we could not have asked for more. It's almost like it was custom made for us to grow, for Muschamp and this team to grow their confidence and get settled-in a bit, etc.

Each week a slightly different, slightly tougher, opponent and opportunity.

I'm really looking forward to watching it play out week by week. Here's to us having some ammo to use out on the main board by the end of October.

I think Vandy is better than MSU.

Vandy is head and shoulders better on defense. State is better on offense mostly because they aren't as one dimensional. That being said, en lieu of keying on Webb we could feasibly key on their qb Williams who was the leading rushed as well as passer. I could see us turning up there juice on offense. A lot of the play calling last week imo had a lot to do with the field position we left ourselves with as it did with scheme in general.

I definitely have a different outlook on the season after the first weekend. I was just hoping to not be the worst team in the league and to show improvement over last year. Now I think we have a good shot at finishing .500 in conference and getting to a bowl. This week's game is really big for us, and I have to point out how nice it is to not have Georgia in week 2 this year. Much rather give the team a chance to take small steps in improvement and not have their confidence shattered as it was last year in Athens in week 2.

The conference overall looks like shite, outside of Alabama. Yeah, I know UGA beat UNC the other day, but USC beat them to start last season, too. Far too early to use North Carolina as a metric for anything.

I'm cautiously optimistic that 7-5/8-4 are possible. But that doesn't mean I think it will actually happen. Carolina is likely to head into a hornet's nest next week in Starkville. Mullen is a good coach, and State will play as well as they can. Champ and Roper are going to have to keep folks calm.

I think Vandy is better on both offense and defense than MSU. They could only score two touchdowns against South Alabama. They may have more than one dimension but that doesn't mean any dimension they have is good.

On Defense USA was able to dominate time of possession. MSU's secondary is terrible and their pass rush is "meh." USC will be working on catching the football this week not having like 7 drops like we had against Vandy.

So I read somewhere today that MSU had three defensive guys and one offensive guy, two starters and two regular contributors, who did not play this past Saturday but will return against us this coming Saturday.

Anyone know if that's true?

I know we've got what, two returning this Saturday ... lost one, Donnell, and then we've got one who will not be back until ECU?

this true FR d-lineman is back after his "time-out" for bad behavior pre-enrollment. 5* and #19 overall prospect in the 2016 class. he is said to be 'closely monitored' on the State campus.

not sure about any others, but we'll see how this guy does hitting males wearing helmets & pads as opposed to a woman lying in the street.
