So you would say that it was a justified reaction or an underreaction that not even through one game you're wondering why we got rid of the previous coach? Sure bud... [quote]

At the time it was a perfectly justified reaction, based on the way we had played so far.

[quote] I've read through the thread, though I have no desire to go back through every post. You continue to say the team played like shite. It wasn't even terribly accurate at the time you posted the initial thread, and yet still it became more and more wrong as the game went on. Just own it man... mistakes happen and you were emotional.

We did play like shite, and Smart backed that up with his comments after re-watching the game. I have owned that we came out and played better, how many times do y'all repeat the same thing, even though it's wrong??

Except that it doesn't. I removed the word "old" and unless there were other edits made to that post, it doesn't change a damn thing. I only saw the comment once prior to the edit, but assuming that was the only change it really doesn't change the meaning, just adds clarity. You're literally the only one who doesn't understand that the sentence meaning doesn't change.

You didn't make the post that is in reference, so I'm guessing you don't know what you're taking about. It absolutely changes the post.

Never have I once bitched about anyone calling me a name. If you let a name on an Internet offend you, that the height of sadness. It's just sad that that's all anyone can do on this site.

You aren't watching much football if you think that isn't classic Saban page 3 of the post game playbook. It's part of the process. Yes there were mistakes, which is to be expected in the first game. UNC just made more of them (ie. not giving Hood the ball more often).

Buckle up young buck, it's going to be a long season for you if you can't make it through a game before wondering why Richt is gone.

Obviously that is part of what Kirby took from Saban, as he did most things which in grateful for. However, if you think that Smart is actually happy about the way we played then you are fooling yourself.

Aren't we all used to long seasons??

You and I have a different definition of shite. Playing like shite was on full display from UTk, Arky, UF, etc... We played a ranked team at a "neutral site" (I'd argue it was a home game, but w/e), and while we certainly made our share of mistakes, we held a team that averaged something like 40 points per game last year to 17 offensive points and one special teams score. Offensively, we were too reliant on Chubb IMO, but again hardly "shite". Limiting mistakes is key, and as long as we make fewer of them than our opponent and we don't continuously make the same mistakes over and over, it's a better look than we've had over the past couple of seasons.

I think we'll all continue to evaluate and we won't have a complete picture until after Ole Miss/Tennessee, but to call the performance shite is underselling it. It's Kirby's *job* to undersell it to keep the process going. Your comments were, as literally everyone ITT but yourself has noted, an overreaction. It's not the end of the world, just takes a bit of perspective.

We would have lost by a lot if we played like shite.
