With all due respect, we lose that much or more almost every season, just in different positions.

We lost all of our receivers, our QB, a chunk of our OL and 2/3 of our RB production going into 2015.

I get that George but a realistic person has to think that there will be a drop off at some point in time. The law of averages will come into play. Will it be this year? I guess time will tell.

Not really - I'm not saying we won't eventually lose 3 games or something, but I don't think the law of averages will have anything to do with it.

We recruit great players across the board, we generally lose a similar amount of talent each year just in different spots, we start new seasons with 2-3 position groups that are going to rely "new players" (soph-juniors who were 4 and 5 stars who have developed in the program).

Honestly, of all the years, the losses this year are covered up more so by the fact that their "backups" in prior years were huge contributors and elite players who have ALREADY proven themselves (DL, LB, CB).

I think, if they avoid key injuries up front, this defense will be the best we've had since 2011.

saban's history at bama says defensive numbers will increase in '16.

Three times ('10, '12 and '14) saban has returned five or fewer starters on "D". ALL three times his scoring "D" and total "D" numbers went up from the previous year.
