quote:You don't read too goodly, let me guess, public school education? I never said this is a lost season, I do think that winning the east is our ceiling, and I think there is a decent shot of that happening. We are just as capable of getting to the SECCG with Eason as we are with HappyFeet McCheckDown imo, with the added bonus of getting him experience so that he can be a special QB in a year or two. I know for a fact that last year there were guys on the team who openly talked about how much Lambert and the offense sucked. Talent recognizes talent, there's a reason why when Eason committed guys on the team tweeted about how excited/happy they were.
Well since we don't care about the season it's just about preparing for 2017. Let's start EH, and tell the rest of the backs we need to prepare him. I know you only care about building a future dynasty, but the team wants to this season. And I promise you they could care less what you want.
quote:So you're saying they do care some?
they could care less what you want.
quote:Kirby has said in interviews that he will consult some of the veterans and leaders of the offense to see how they feel about who should start. Considering Eason is running with the 1s a week from kickoff I'd take a shot in the dark and say that overall they're okay with it.
And as I have already said twice, if the players think he's ready and want him in there , then that's great and I'm all for it. But the team does deserve a chance and they should be able to trust who's in there.
You've backed yourself into a corner defending a backup from a crappy ACC school, if I were you I'd bail.

I'm tired of trying to remind people how bad Lambert was last year so I'll try to finish with this. Eason has seemed to pass every test so far, so maybe its not crazy to think he's ready to take the reins.
He came in the spring with a lot of hype, worked with the 3s without complaining and by all indications had good spring practices. Then comes G-Day, 93,000 + there to see him, crowd going crazy as soon as he steps on the field and how does he respond? By throwing strikes like he was in the backyard at home with nobody watching. Then comes the summer, where he beefs up enough so that we're no longer worried about him breaking in half after he takes his first sack, now fast forward to camp. He worked his way up the depth chart, with practice reports about him being positive for the most part. And then last week he got his shot to work exclusively with the ones, and from what we've heard Kirby didn't make it easy on him, with what was described as a "Trial by Fire". It sounded like JE was blitzed and had more thrown at him that any of the other QBs did. He's done all of this while being very humble and without getting into trouble or doing something stupid to embarrass the team.
After all that, a first year defensive minded coach with a lot of pressure to win appears to be comfortable handing JE the keys to the ride. The same coach who said in the spring that he would really rather not start a True Freshman QB, so if he's okay with it then so am I.
