The combination of one fan/reporter with frosted tips and another who is morbidly obese and lisps like he's auditioning for a role in The Bird Cage, both of whom gossip like old washerwomen and crave attention like 15 year old girls, and neither of whom have a sense of shame or propriety, with a donor base made up of jealous, pompous old men who feel compelled to flaunt whatever inside knowledge or influence they may or may not have to everyone they meet so they can feel superior and one-up their golf buddies makes for a lot of interesting, though hardly ever accurate fables filled with slander, libel, and innuendo, in the form of sporting news "stories" being written or relayed on the radio here in Austin.
