I think the real question is will Al Golden just see it as a stepping stone job?

At this point they are turning it into a bigger screw-up than their Miami fiasco.
The SECRant is all excited, but the rant does not matter here. Every school out there is watching this and changing their game plans on how they deal with the NCAA. They are going to find themselves with less willing participants in the future.
The NCAA needs to find something big enough to justify the time invested into this investigation, they think they have something. They do not have enough justification though, so they are going with the desperation move.
Millions of dollars are being spent in this ordeal to uncover a few possible thousand of dollars going to athletes.

Bama fans made the same claim during the Albert Means Investigation.
When it came time to nut up, nothing happened. Administration made the decision not to seek legal action against the ncaa and I'm betting the result will be the same with the OM administration.

It is not a legal thing, it is how this changes the landscape of college football. The fans are irrelevant here, it is the administrations that will change rules of NCAA engagement.
Rival fans are going to celebrate the littlest to largest punishments Ole Miss receives. The ADs are probably saying WTF is the NCAA doing now. The NCAA have invested a lot of time and money and the Tunsil draft night made them look like idiots. Once the NCAA verges into vendetta mode, they lose support. Maybe not from the fans here, but from the Universities that give them their power to begin with.

OM will not leave the NCAA.
The NCAA Enforcement Staff is the Judge, Jury and executioner in all matters of NCAA rules. All Universities agreed to play by their rules when the volunteered to be a member of the NCAA.

Keep telling yourself that this is no big deal.

I've got news for you. What went on at Ole Siss is 1/100th of what goes on all over the SEC at every major program. The Mississippi schools have been the most egregious in recent years, but that's only because they aren't very successful on the field and the SEC doesn't lose much revenue by slamming them with probation. It's also partly because they don't have the experience in cheating like Bama or some other schools (who have it down to a science). BTW, did I miss a news alert? When was Freeze fired?
An Auburn fan on his soapbox about cheating? The irony is immeasurable. Is that you, bagman? How's Cecil's church doing with that "donation?" Say hello to $Cam for me!

Even if Ole Miss goes in the toilet and has to fire The Tooth Fairy, they can still probably hire a well named coach due to being an SEC school.
