If you'd chill out with the race baiting for a bit and watch the tape that's out there with your objective glasses on, it's not a terrible comparison. He may have improved over the summer, but if the Hurts that played in the spring game is the same one you trot out against USC, bama will struggle moving the ball in the air. That's not to say bama can't win with him, but he's not Sims or Coker.

Hurts that played in the spring game was making throws on the run down the field and finding running lanes against our #1 defense. Hurts in the spring, 6 weeks post-high school graduation, was light years better than Treon Harris against our #1 defense in the SECCG. So no, it's a stupid comparison.

Quite frankly, if we are comparing a QB to Treon Harris the correct one would be Bateman. He doesn't throw it well down field, throws a bunch of check downs and has relatively good speed and quickness. But we all know why that wasn't made.

I just don't see how you can watch that tape and say, wow, this guy is light years better. I don't care about stats, I'm looking purely as his mechanics and accuracy, and they flat out aren't good. Every throw he makes wobbles at least a little, most badly, and he has a bad habit of throwing off his back foot. Treon struggled with similar issues, yet they both seem to have a good feel for pressure. I don't think the guffaw responses are justified if all we have is his spring game tape. It certainly isn't just because they're both black.

Again, Hurts may have improved this summer, but I'm just scratching my head that some bama fans are using that spring game to hype him. I also don't think it's a slight to say he's not as good yet as two fifth year seniors who have a natty and a playoff appearance between them.

I didn't think he went against the #1 D. If he did it was only for a series. He was the only one to get the offense moving and made some good throws. I'm very interested to see his development.

I never thought I'd see the day SoG wrong on his info. He wasn't going against the 1s, but the 2s. Though he still looked better than anyone by a wide margin. His running ability is insane.
