I don't know about that, but
Gabe DeArmond ? @GabeDeArmond
#Mizzou freshman OL Darvis Holmes told me he will have shoulder surgery tomorrow morning. Could return by week three or four he thought.

IF true that he broke his ankle, I wouldn't think that would be a season killer.

Yeah, he'd be out for the year

Yep sucks, but dont think it will cost us or win us a game.

Does Nate still have a redshirt year in his back pocket?

The only thing is that it's a high ankle sprain. Hopefully he doesn't go Hansbrough/Boehm 2.0 on us

Yeah, I suspect that means out for the season. Those are a bitch to come back from. Like was said, not a game changer either way IMO. It's not like he was lights out better than anyone else out there. I do suspect a lot of guys, given the opportunity now, would pass him to the point he couldn't step right back in and play/start.

Nate Brown of last year is very easy to replace, but we need better out of that spot.
If he was progressing and going to live up to what his potential was, then maybe that is a loss.
As it sits though, we have 8 guys who can do what Brown did last year

Who's first up to replace Nate Brown? WRs coach Andy Hill points to Keyon Dilosa, Eric Laurent & Dominic Collins.
From Matter.

Big if.

I like stories of walk ons but man, if Laurent is a real possibility at starter then I truly hope his is a real Cinderella story.

I've read Collins and Floyd have looked great during camp. Between those two, Mason, Black, Moore, Dilosa, Blair, Smith, Hall, and Wingo, I think we'll be fine.

No doubt. We have such huge numbers, surely someone or two or three or more will step up and seize the opportunity.

Yeah, doesn't seem like a loss at all really.
Like I said, only if he was going to breakout but no way to know that.
