The water levels north of Baton Rouge up toward the Miss state line are receding but that wave of water is what is causing the backwater flooding in Baton Rouge Area. All this water has to go into Lake Maurepas and it just cant get there fast enough. I have heard numbers of 24" of rain since Friday...

NBC news reported 30" of rain within the last 72 hours with another 6" expected. That's some epic rainfall.
