Officials said they received a call on Sunday afternoon that a young boy was wandering in downtown Franklin alone.
Police said the 7-year-old was peddling his teddy bear in front of a drug store to get money for food.
“It broke my heart,” Dunham said. “He told me he was trying to sell his stuffed animal to get money for food because he hadn't eaten in several days

Dunham took the child to a nearby Subway to get something to eat, then brought him back to the Franklin Police Department.
“(We) said a little prayer and ate dinner together,” Dunham said

Police said the 7-year-old boy and his brothers, ages 11, 12, 15 and 17, have been removed from the home and are now staying with family members.
The parents have been ordered to have no contact with them and were charged with 10 counts of child endangerment.

2 things:
1st that's just pitiful that the kid hadn't eaten in several days
2nd
that he knew a way to get food legally

The sad part is some liberal judge will eventually give the kids back to these parents.

Yep. Only to be neglected again. One of the great failures of our justice system is to recognize pattern behavior and make the wrong assumptions.

I imagine meth'd out skeletons that probably don't even realize their kids are gone.

I can only imagine what horrible trouble the 17 and 15 year-olds are causing without any kind of structure or real upbringing.

Those are the kind of kids that should be adopted out to gay and lesbian couples.
I have a client over in Tulsa who her and her wife/husband/whatevs have adopted 3 kids from a family of habitual meth users/criminals.
The couple they've adopted the kids from keep having kids in the small amounts of time they're both out of jail or rehab.
Those two ladies have done a tremendous job with them, they're a wonderful little family and they'll give those kids a chance at an education and an upbringing that'll give them a foundation for a good life. Staying with their birth parents would lead to a life of tragedy for the kids.
Hope those kids in the OP article don't get stuck in the same cycle being with family.
